License Plate Recognition
LPR (License Plate Recognition) is an image-processing technology used to identify vehicles by their license plates. This technology is used in various security and traffic applications, such as the access-control system
The LPR module not only reads and recognizes license plate information automatically from passing vehicles, but it also logs the information with the accompanying snapshots. All of this vehicle information is searchable using time or license plate information and it can then be transmitted to multiple users simultaneously. The LPR module is effective to enforce parking permits or time-limited zone rules and to conduct lot inventories.
The software already support optimized recognition algorithms for more than 50 countries around the world and has been used for a variety of private and commercial applications.
License Plate Access Control
Designed to operate as either a stand-alone solution or to be integrated with existing access control equipment, REG-Sentry allows the user to configure physical security equipment to either permit or bar entry to any vehicle attempting to enter a secured site. Users upload license plate data using the PC based Sentry-Viewer creating a custom black/white list. The REG camera captures the license plate of any vehicle approaching its access control point and sends video information to the REG-Sentry control box which processes the video, forms the license plate characters and compares this data to the black/white list. REG-Sentry then communicates a message to the physical security system to allow or refuse access.
